Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third same. WHISKERY moved up steadily, though racing a trifle wide and, holding on gamely, wore down OSMAND in the last sixteenth. The latter, always well up for the entire distance, held on much gamer than expected in the final drive. JOCK began fast, showed high speed but tired in the last eighth. HYDROMEL showed a fine performance and continued gamely in the stretch. BOSTONIAN was far out of it for a half-mile and closed a big gap. BUDDY BAUER also closed a big gap from a slow beginning. Scratched - Saxon, My Son, Mr. Kirkwood.
